Your Invisible Defence
The enemy had him surrounded, but the enemy themselves were surounded by a bigger, fiery army that was far more dangerous and totally supernatural. He wasn’t vulnerable at all, even though he appeared so and his enemies thought so.
Dear Believer,
When you you see a great flood of challenges or enemy forces coming against you, what comes to your mind?
The Prophet Elisha’s servant once rose up early, and as he got out, he saw that the whole place had been surrounded by a murderous army sent to capture and kill his master. His first reaction was total panic. “Master, what shall we do? We are finished…” he cried. 1 Kings 6:15.
The Prophet wasn’t even bothered one bit. “ Fear not, ” he said to the jittery servant. “ Those who are with us are more than those who are with them .”
He had no sword or any other form of physical defence whatsoever, yet he wasn’t bothered at all! In fact he was amused at his servant’s reaction.
The the prophet prayed to God to “open the eyes” of the servant.
Suddenly, the servant ‘saw’ the whole area “ full of chariots of fire round about Elisha .” 1 Kings 6:17.
Even though Elisha wasn’t armed, he couldn’t be harmed. The enemy had him surrounded, but the enemy themselves were surrounded by a bigger, fiery army that was far more dangerous and totally supernatural. He wasn’t vulnerable at all, even though he appeared so and his enemies thought so.
When the enemy forces seem to be arrayed against your life and destiny, refuse to see only with your physical eyes. That is the time to engage the eyes of your spirit to see by faith the hosts of heaven sent to protect you. The servant was in panic because all he could see was physical.
Dear Believer, you are designed to “ walk and live by faith, not by sight .” 2 Corinthians 5:7. Satan wants to bind you to the realm of sight where unbelief reigns and thrives. If you do not see the provision of the Lord for the challenges you are facing, you’ll not be able to appropriate it by faith. The thoughts of the enemy becomes dominant in your mind while God’s power is waiting to be activated in your behalf.
The Word of God has been given to you so that you can understand the workings of God. Hold on to divine provision and stand against the enemy by faith.
See past the enemy threats. Stop talking about them. Declare the Word and the works of the Lord instead. Say with king David:
All nations (of the enemy) compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD will I destroy them. Psalm 118:10
