YOU ARE A GIVER OF PEACE

YOU ARE A GIVER OF PEACE

Believer, you carry peace, but you cannot force it on people. Once you see that your peace is rejected anywhere, just disconnect and move to somewhere it will be appreciated and received.

Luke 10:5-6 VW
And whatever house you enter, first say, Peace to this house. And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest on it; if not, it will return to you.

Dear Believer,

Here’s something I’ve experienced again and again. I enter into a home and after a while find that it has been filled with misunderstanding… Or I’m invited to get involved in some matter. By the time I leave, the atmosphere has changed. Peace has replaced all the trouble and enemies are friends again.

What’s the magic?

Well, it’s no magic but a miracle.

I’m a son of peace. Wherever I am accepted, I bring the Peace of Jesus.

Isaiah 9:6 VW
For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given… and His name shall be called … The Prince of Peace.

The Believer, like Jesus the Prince of Peace, is himself a prince of peace.

In the focus Bible passage of today, we see some remarkable points. Jesus says as we enter a house, we must proclaim peace unto it. “Peace” rather than “Good morning” is the Believer’s greeting. It is an offer to the inhabitants of the house.

He says if a son of peace is in the house, the peace you offer will be accepted and it will rest upon the house. Peace here is presented as a tangible force or thing. It can be deposited or taken up.

Then He says that peace can be rejected. If the house is full of children of anarchy and hate, your peace comes back to you.

Believer, you carry peace, but you cannot force it on people. Once you see that your peace is rejected anywhere, just disconnect and move to somewhere it will be appreciated and received.

Some people hate peace. Of them the scripture says, “The way of peace they have not known.” (Isaiah 59:8). They are totally toxic and perpetually obnoxious. Giving such people a healthy distance is sometimes necessary. Then you keep praying for them until they embrace peace.

Remember, you are a child of peace. You take that peace everywhere you go. Be sensitive and know where that peace is needed. Reach to the place or person and speak peace into their situation. Don’t bother yourself or feel slighted if your peace is rejected. Don’t start to act like a son of anger. Just take up your peace and reach out in love to other persons and places.

You are blessed.

Your friend,
Deon.
