WHEN YOU FEEL ABANDONED AND BETRAYED.

WHEN YOU FEEL ABANDONED AND BETRAYED.

Do not be discouraged and nurse a spirit of vindictiveness because men disappointed you. It will all work for your good. Keep working towards the goal God has set before you.

John 7:5 KJV
For neither did his brethren believe in him.

Dear Believer,

The verse above refers to Jesus. He was the one whose brothers didn’t believe in!

There may come a time when you find yourself alone while doing good because those who are close to you stop believing in you and walk away. Well, not to worry; Jesus experienced that, too.

Or you may be in the midst of challenges and in need of support, but find that you have been abandoned by those whom you have helped in the past. Don’t be discouraged; It happened to Jesus, too.

The mother of Jesus had other sons and daughters after having Jesus. For some reasons, they saw Jesus as a busybody and a jobless fellow. They taunted him.

They once told Him during the time of the Passover, “Everyone who is somebody is now going up to Jerusalem, and you call yourself somebody but remain here? Go ahead and show yourself!” (John 7:3-4).

They weren’t encouraging Him; they were mocking Him. The Bible says they said those unkind words because they didn’t believe in Him.

Now, there may even come a time when those who believe in you abandon you because they are afraid of being a partaker of some negative thing they believe must befall you.
When Jesus was arrested, His disciples who had seen the power of God operate through Him could not even stand by Him.

Mark 14:50 KJV
And they all forsook him, and fled.

Peter denied Him. (John 18:25). John stood at a safe distance. The rest hid themselves.

Buy Jesus went on and never wavered.

What do you do when you find yourself alone as you press forward to fulfil destiny?

Realize first that as a Believer, you can never be alone. The presence of the Holy Spirit is with you. Men may abandon you but God doesn’t do that.

Hebrews 13:5 KJV
…for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Ask for divine strength. The victory will be yours.

In the case of Jesus, one of His brothers who initially didn’t believe in Him eventually became one of the pillars among the disciples. He was called James, the Lord’s brother. (James 1:19).

The disciples that forsook Him eventually came back and became strong witnesses.

Do not be discouraged and nurse a spirit of vindictiveness because men disappointed you. It will all work for your good. Keep working towards the goal God has set before you.

Have a great day.

Your Friend,
Deon.
