WHEN THE ENEMY PURSUES…
When the enemy keeps pursuing you and refuses to back off, you either start believing that he is about to get you, or you believe that he is about to get destroyed.
Hebrews 11:29 MKJV1962
By faith they passed through the Red Sea as by dry [land], which the Egyptians attempting to do were drowned.
Dear Believer,
When the enemy keeps pursuing you and refuses to back off, you either start believing that he is about to get you, or you believe that he is about to get destroyed.
If you know the Word of God, you will believe the latter.
The Israelites stood on the banks of the Red Sea seeing at the distance the clouds of dust raised by the pursuing army of Egypt. The sound of murder was coming nearer every minute.
It seemed that the end had come. They were all going to be killed or taken back into slavery. Since you know the story, you will remember that the Egyptian army that looked like they had the upper hand were actually being gathered unto destruction. (Read Exodus chapter 14).
When the time has come for the enemy’s destruction, the spirit of stupidity rests on them. Just how stupid they can be will be made clear now.
These people saw Israel march confidently through the Red Sea. They couldn’t stop the Israelites because God had placed a wall of fire between them. (See Exodus 14:29-20).
In those days, the pagans went to war with their sorcerers and diviners. I can imagine that the Egyptians began to attack the pillar of fire with their sorcery as the people of God marched through the Red Sea. God kept the enemy busy while His people crossed over.
When God’s people got to the other side, the wall of fire went down. What do you think the Egyptians made of that?
They must have thought their magicians were powerful. “Our sorcerers have brought down the wall of fire that the Hebrew God put up,” they must have said.
Can you now understand why these people stupidly rushed into the yawning sea after God’s people? They believed their gods! They had confidence in their idols.
See the scripture focus of today again. The people of God by faith marched through the Red Sea. The Egyptians tried to do the same and were drowned.
The Read sea can only be crossed by faith. The enemy who sees you cross the Red Sea by divine faith and thinks he can imitate you will drown. The Red Sea doesn’t respond to expertise or horses or chariots or grammar.
Do not be afraid of the enemy following you persistently. His stubbornness will only get him drowned.
Do not make the enemy your focus. God will handle the enemy by the wall of fire and the waters of the sea. You just ‘go forward’ as God told the Israelites. (Exodus 14:15).
That wall of fire was the last warning to the enemy, but he was so stubbornly stupid. God will warn your enemy, and if they know better, they will go back. But like Pharaoh and his army, many won’t listen to reason. And drown they must!
It is dangerous to hate on a man of faith. You are a Believer. You live by faith. Whatever the enemy of your destiny is may seem massive and insurmountable, like the well trained Egyptian army, but they will sink with their chariots, horses and all their arsenal.
You are more than a victor!
Have a great day.
