WHEN FAITH IS TESTED
The best time to prepare for pressure is during pleasure. The time to prepare for war is during the time of peace.
Hebrews 11:30
By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days.
Faith is not something we carry in our pocket, or save in a bank. Faith is of the heart, and because of this, you may not feel it at all in a physical way.
Faith is deposited in the heart as you believe in the Word of God. It is like love. Having it in your heart is not enough; you must use it for it to have any meaning at all.
It is easy to say, “I have a lot of faith, but when situations arise that cause a serious shaking in a person’s life, the quality of faith is revealed. Faith is not really known until it is tested.
God does not put us under pressure and neither does He test us with evil, (James 1:13), but evil does happen in this world. Sometimes a Believer is faced with situations that are less than desirable. This does not mean he does not have faith; it only means his faith is being tested.
So what should you do when you find yourself in a difficult situation?
First, I want to emphasize that the best time to prepare for pressure is during pleasure. The time to prepare for war is during the time of peace. No Believer should wait for trouble to strike before strengthening their faith. The armor of the Spirit is to be put on in preparation for the evil day, not to be worn on the evil day.
Ephesians 6:13 KJV
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
When you wake up every single day to study the Word of God and pray, it may not seem like much. You may not feel anything and it may seem ordinary. But your spirit is being built up and faith is growing in you.
And when trouble and challenges come, you reach deep into the recesses of your spirit to bring up the treasure of faith that has been stored up over time. There is a reason we are called Believers. It is because we believe. That is our nature.
During difficult times, do not give in to doubt and unbelief. Tough times don’t change God’s nature. He is still the Healer, Deliverer, Savior and Protector.
One thing you must do is stick to the Word of God. He always has a word about every situation. The Word may come to you spontaneously. It may come to you as you settle down in prayer with the Word of God. The time of challenge is not the time to panic or get anxious. It is the time to receive the Word of God and know His will. It is the time to put all your trust in the Word of God and refuse to give in to the taunting and mockery of the devil. It is the time to declare the Word of God that you’ve stored up in your heart.
Faith is the victory.
1John 5:4 KJV
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
SPEAK TO THE FATHER
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the Word You have given that gives me faith. I commit myself to your word. I feed on it daily and walk in your Word and Your Will. I overcome all challenges of the enemy by the faith You have given me in my heart in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Have a great day.
Your friend,
Deon.
