When Evil Gathers

When Evil Gathers

Evil forces will gather against you. Do not receive that as bad news. One of the ways God has been prospering His people is through adversities.

Dear Believer,

While it is normal for the world’s people to get intimidated by the array of evil forces against them, you are of a different order. God has designed you to be ‘unintimidatable’ and indomitable.

Listen to this very well: evil forces will gather against you. Do not receive that as bad news. One of the ways God has been prospering His people is through adversities.

In 2 Chronicles chapter 20, three different powerful armies came again the people of God. What was the reaction of the godly king when he heard that some terrible people were coming for his kingdom?

And Jehoshaphat feared… 2 Chronicles 20:3.

That reaction is natural. But the godly king quickly did away with fear and and went to pray to God, asking what to do.

When evil gathers against you, look out: something good is hiding behind the enemy forces. Their defeat will lead to your increase.

To cut the long story short, God led the people and they acted in faith. Though they were much fewer and less equipped for war than their enemies, they won the war. God cause the enemy to turn against each other and destroy each other. God’s people didn’t even have to fight.

Now this is the interesting thing: when the Lord’s people got to the battlefield, they found great wealth left behind by the destroyed enemy soldiers. It seemed that the whole purpose of the invasion was to enrich God’s people, even though it seemed to be bad news at the beginning.

When evil gathers against you, look out: something good is hiding behind the enemy forces. Their defeat will lead to your increase.

Dear Believer, do not be intimidated by the multitude arrayed against you. When you see them, start to praise God in faith like Jehoshaphat and his people did. Hold on to the Word of God that says, “Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.” Isaiah 54:15.

Do have a great day!

Your friend,

Deon.
