THEY DIDN’T DIE FOR YOU!

THEY DIDN’T DIE FOR YOU!

One of the biggest threats to your spiritual stability is distraction.

1Corinthians1:13 KJV
…Was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?

Dear Believer,

One of the biggest threats to your spiritual stability is distraction. Thank God the Word of God has given us the solution to this problem, and it is straightforward. Here is it:

Hebrews 12:2 KJV
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Looking into Jesus!

This isn’t a glance, but a sustained look.

Why is this important? You see, when you look unto people and place your confidence in them, you fall when they fall and fail when they fail.

Sometimes we see very godly people who seem to have some issues in their lives. Sometimes great Believers have huge challenges that seem to question the faithfulness of God and you may even be tempted to doubt God’s Word because of their experiences.

“If Pastor so-and-so could have this problem, what hope do I have?”

“If sister so-and-so, who I know to be holy and faithful, could be this sick, what defence do I have?”

You may even become disappointed in a minister or Believer over a moral failure or a sin in their life.

Well, that pastor isn’t the Word of God. That sister isn’t the Holy Spirit.

Looking unto them is great unbelief, as they aren’t the author or finisher of your faith.

Paul asked the Corinthians, “Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized in the name of Paul?”

He said this to Believers who had shifted their confidence from Christ to him. And I’d love to ask you, Believer, is any pastor or brother or sister your crucified and resurrected Lord?

When it comes to the matter of faith, anyone other than Jesus is a potential distraction. Those people didn’t die for you. And anyone who didn’t die for you and resurrect for you has no authority to determine the course of your life. You also don’t have divine permission to determine the course of your life according to their experiences, no matter who they are.

The fact that someone you respect in the faith has a problem shouldn’t shake your faith. You don’t know everything. The secret things belong to God. What He has revealed to you in His Word is what you are obligated to live by. (Deuteronomy 29:29).

Believer, I beseech you to stick to the Word of God.

Jesus is the Beginning.

Jesus is the End.

Jesus is your Faith.

He doesn’t fail.

Have a great day!

I remain your friend,
Deon.
