THERE IS MYSTERY IN YOUR LANGUAGE

If you can understand the language in which I write this DailyVotion, it is a blessing. This means you and I can understand each other, which makes communication possible. We speak the same language.

But to understand someone’s language is more than knowing the meaning of every word than makes up a speech. That is why a child can know every word that makes up a proverb or a parable spoken by an elderly person and still fail to understand what the elderly person is saying. In that case we can say the child doesn’t understand the old person’s ‘language,’ even though he speaks the man’s language.

Jesus sometimes spoke to the crowd and they would listen in rapt attention, nodding their heads in agreement. Yet they didn’t understand a thing.

When Jesus shared the Parable of the Sower, the people heard and enjoyed it, but didn’t understand it. Even His disciples had to ask Him in private what it meant. And then He shared the following profound truth:

And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand. Luke 8:10.

Mark puts it this way:

…Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. Mark 13:11.

Unto you it is given to know.

Unto them it is not given!

So Kingdom secrets are for Kingdom citizens. Only the children of the Kingdom can understand the language of the Kingdom.

In the story cited above, the disciples heard the parable just like the multitude. It is interesting to note that they we’re at a loss about the parable just as the crowd was.

The story was about a farmer and seeds and different types of soils. Every component of the story was well known to the people, but when they were put together, they became a package for a special message — a mystery.

After the crowd had left, the disciples were alone with Jesus and the questioning started. Jesus then expounded the mystery in that parable to the disciples ‘line upon line.’

From this we can see that:

1. You can know a language and yet not understand the message it is conveying.

2. The message remains a mystery until the teacher expounds it.

3. A kingdom mystery is always unraveled in private. The secrets of the Kingdom can only be revealed in the secret place.

That is the reason a word that sets someone free has no impact on another person who also heard it. The problem is not the seed, it is the soil.

What am I saying? Every believer knows the Bible. Many claim to have read the Bible through 50 or more times. That’s great. But as Phillip the Evangelist asked the Ethiopean Eunuch, “Do you understand what you are reading?” (Acts 8:30).

As the anointed teaching goes out, or as a word is given to you, do you know the purpose?

Remember, you are a child of the Kingdom, and it is your birthright to know those mysteries as they concern your life, family, career, ministry, spiritual growth and so on.

It is YOUR language, but you must get to understand it.

The Holy Spirit requires your attention in the ‘secret place.’ There is something you need to know about that matter. There is a meaning that goes deeper than the surface concerning what is going on in the world. Let the Teacher unravel the mystery. It is your heritage.
