THE TWO PERSPECTIVES
When you decide to see things from the perspective of God, everything takes their true size and significance.
2 Corinthians 4:18 ULB
For we are not watching for things that are seen, but for things that are unseen. The things that we can see are temporary, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
Dear Believer,
To live a vibrant spiritual life, you have to see things from heaven’s perspective.
Remember that God has raised the Believer to sit in Christ with God in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 2:5-6).
Viewing Earth’s challenges from heaven’s perspective makes them look different. The pleasures of this world also become less tempting from heaven’s perspective. We start to see things as God sees them.
For instance, the mentality of the world’s people about material things is pitiful and very infantile. Someone may buy a very expensive car today and start to feel on top of the world. He may have a lot of money in the bank, marry the most beautiful woman in the world and generally have what is thought to be a wonderful life. That is the earthly, carnal perspective.
But as good as all these seem, they give temporary pleasures. In a few years’ time, the car becomes obsolete. The beautiful body ages and becomes wracked with diseases. It is soon discovered that money can’t solve some of the most serious problems of the rich man.
God tells us emphatically:
Colosians 3:2 KJV
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Jesus also said this in very clear terms:
Mathew 6:19-20 KJV
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal.
The higher up you go, the tinier things on Earth become. Buildings, mountain ranges, cities — they all become small when we see them from inside an airplane several thousand feet up in the air.
Likewise, when you decide to see things from the perspective of God, everything takes their true size and significance. We find that so many things we bother about aren’t that important. We then set our heart on the things that are eternal.
That is the secret of real peace.
Believer, let your perspective be the heaven’s perspective.
Have a great day.
