THE PROTEST AND THE PRAYER

THE PROTEST AND THE PRAYER

If you are part of the ongoing protest, do not stop at the physical and the emotional levels. As a Believer, I enjoin you to join others to apply spiritual pressure in prayer.

Jeremiah 4:31 KJV
For I have heard a voice as of a woman in travail, and the anguish as of her that bringeth forth her first child, the voice of the daughter of Zion, that bewaileth herself, that spreadeth her hands, saying, Woe is me now! for my soul is wearied because of murderers.

Dear Believer,

I ask this of you because you are a lover of God: pray for Nigeria NOW.

Our nation is in travail. It’s been pregnant for long, and now the birth pangs are on her. What will she birth? How will she birth it?

There has been an almost nationwide protest against all sorts of ills that the nation has been buried in. It is very understandable that people are fed up.

But ours isn’t the first of such uprising among the nations of the world. Tunisia, Egypt, Syria and others had their own uprising. None of these places got better after that; things got ten times worse.

Their nations travailed and birthed deformed babies. Their hope turned to more hopelessness. After the death of thousands and the destruction of cities and infrastructure, nothing has got better for them.

Do you see why you need to pray for Nigeria now? Those who start this kind uprising usually have good intentions. The problem is, good intentions are never enough; the road to hell are paved with them.

Rampant and institutionalized injustice brought this about, but we must pray it all end well.

Let us pray mercy over Nigeria today. For this nation under pressure, mercy must prevail over judgement. All corruption must be swept away by the wind of righteousness. All agitation must lead to peace and not a breakdown of order. We must pray to forbid anarchy and bloodshed. We must frustrate the devices of those who delight in war. (Psalm 68:30).

If you are part of the ongoing protest, do not stop at the physical and the emotional levels. As a Believer, I enjoin you to join others to apply spiritual pressure in prayer.

We shall not let the devil hijack this, and we shall enforce the will of God.

Pray with your family. Pray with your friends. Pray now, pray continually.

And welcome a new nation far more better than the old.

Have a beautiful day.
