THAT BLESSED THING IN YOUR HAND
All Jesus did was bless the food and hand it over to his disciples. The multiplication of the food took place as the disciples started to give it to the people.
John 6:11 KJ2000
And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were sat down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.
Dear Believer,
When Jesus fed thousands of people with a few pieces of fish and five loaves of bread, people understandably marveled. We still marvel today also.
One thing that is easy to miss, however, is that the food actually multiplied in the hands of the disciples, not in the hands of Jesus.
All Jesus did was bless the food and hand it over to his disciples. The multiplication of the food took place as the disciples started to give it to the people.
Something little received a divine touch from God. Immediately, the capacity to multiply and grow is imparted into that small thing. But for actual growth to take place, someone, or some people must believe and take the step to work out the miracle of growth.
When the disciples received the food from Jesus, they had a choice to either keep it with them or distribute it. They had a choice to either hoard it or spread it. They had a choice to believe that the food would multiply or not.
They chose to believe. They refused to consider the physical size of the food. They took the Lord at His Word. If He said they should distribute the little food to the multitude, they would trust him and do so.
And the food kept growing in their hands. The more they gave, the more remained. People ate and there was abundant leftovers.
Have you been praying for God to increase you? The way He does it is to bless the little you have. Until you believe and step out with what the Lord has blessed in your hand, you may remain little.
We can also see that a stingy man will not grow beyond what he has in his hands. It is God’s way that what you have doesn’t grow until you spread it abroad.
Ecclesiastes 11:1 KJ2000
Cast your bread upon the waters: for you shall find it after many days.
In God’s book, stinginess tends to poverty.
Proverbs 11:24 NET
One person is generous and yet grows more wealthy, but another withholds more than he should and comes to poverty.
The disciples reached out to meet needs, and at the end of the day, they had so much left than they had started with.
Believer, God has wired you for increase. When He puts anything in your hands, it is so that you can increase in and with it. All He does is bless the little in your hands. The miracle is then in your hands, not in God’s hands. Jesus only blessed the bread, the miraculous increase happened in the hands of the disciples.
So I say to you today, friend: go and prosper!
Have a great day.
