SWORD IN YOUR MOUTH

Revelation 1:16 KJV
And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp two edged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.

Dear Believer,

Your mouth isn’t just for eating, talking and drinking. It has a more powerful function, and many Believers aren’t aware of that great function.

In our focus passage today, we see the glorified Jesus in His heavenly body with seven stars at his right hand. He has a countenance so bright that the sun couldn’t match it even at its brightest.

And then that mouth of His!

Each time He opened it, it was as though the blade of a sharp two-edged sword shot out of it.

What a mighty Lord!

Jesus is unique in all His ways, but you, Believer, has been fashioned after your Lord. As He is, so are you. In the spirit, you also have a sword proceeding out of your mouth.

Even in the Old Testament, Isaiah the prophet knew enough to know that spiritually, his mouth was fashioned like a sword.

Isaiah 49:2 KJV
And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword…

The Believer’s mouth is an avenue for the declaration of divine authority. That is why we avoid idle words. It is said that when the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable. Only Believers who are ignorant of the purpose of their mouth and tongue speak anyhow.

Romans 10:8 KJV
…The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach.

The Word is the sword. Believer, it is not going to be given to you; IT IS IN YOUR MOUTH ALREADY.

See again how powerful the word can be in your mouth:

For the Word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

The Word is brutally and devastatingly efficient against everything the devil can fashion against you. When your mouth is open and the Word of faith proceeds out of it, that is the blade of the Sword slashing right and left against the enemy forces.

I have cast out thousands of demons in the name of Jesus. Demons aren’t afraid of anyone, least of all me. What they fear is the Sword in my mouth. They can’t stand it.

Human words amount to nothing with the devil. Beautiful words poetically crafted in philosophical frames are as worthless as a rotten toothpick in the battle of life.

Nothing scares the forces of darkness like “It is written!” An inspired word from the heavens will confuse demons while all the writings of Shakespeare mean absolutely nothing to them.

Believer, there’s a sword in your mouth. That mouth of yours is a weapon of mass destruction against sickness and demonic forces. It is also a weapon of defence. Use it.

And always remember, it all begins in the heart. When you fill the heart with the Word and meditate on it day and night, it erupts when it is needed.

Of the sword in the Believer’s mouth, we can say like David after he was given the Sword of Goliath, “THERE IS NOTHING LIKE IT!” (1 Samuel 21:9).
