SPEAK IT, BUT SHOW IT TOO!

SPEAK IT, BUT SHOW IT TOO!

Everyone must see the progress you are making in the Word of God, your holy living and manifestation of divine grace and power, not merely to hear what you preach.

Titus 2:7 KJV
In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity.

Dear Believer,

True Christianity is both verbal and visible.

It is verbal, and by this I mean that you speak about it, or rather speak it. The Gospel is the good news. It isn’t news if it isn’t told.

But the often neglected aspect is the visible part of our faith. Many want to tell others, but don’t want to live it. They want to speak it, but don’t want to show it.

Paul tells his protege, Titus, not only to speak about the Life in Jesus, but also to show himself as a ‘pattern,’ (or example) of good works to his hearers. He was not only to teach doctrine, but also to show in his life his own uncorruptness in doctrine. He was to be a visible, positive example of what he preached.

Many are so eager to teach and call others to order. They love to look for what is wrong in other people’s lives and doctrines, but don’t live above reproach themselves. To such believers, James the Apostle says:

James 3:1 WMTH
Do not be eager, my brethren, for many among you to become teachers; for you know that we teachers shall undergo severer judgement.

Teachers and all those who love to ‘speak the truth no matter whose ox is gored’ will be judged more strictly.

Anyone can speak and teach others what to do. That’s very simple. Doing what you say in public and in private is another thing, and that is where most people fail.

Paul warns us:

Romans 2:1, 3. WEB
Therefore you are without excuse, O man, whoever you are who judge. For in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself. For you who judge practice the same things….Do you think this, O man who judges those who practice such [bad] things, and do the same, that you will escape the judgment of God?

Speaking the truth to others without doing it attracts judgement.

Don’t just expect people to practice the truth you tell them, let them see you do it and know that it is possible to live right.

Believer, you are not to only meditate and memorize the scripture, you are to let it show clearly in your life for people to see.

1Timothy 4:15 KJV
Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; THAT THY PROFITING MAY APPEAR TO ALL.

Everyone must see the progress you are making in the Word of God, your holy living and manifestation of divine grace and power, not merely to hear what you preach.

Every Believer must live to allow the Spirit of God to work in them in showing the world and other Believers the power of Jesus that transforms lives.

May you shine as light, drawing people to Jesus!

Have a beautiful weekend.

Your friend,
Deon.
