RISE UP AND DO GOOD AGAIN
Believer, if you’ve been discouraged from doing something good because of any reason, the Lord says to you, “Do not be weary!”
2Thessalonians 3:13 KJV
But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.
Dear Believer,
Have you ever felt like giving up?
I mean giving up doing good, helping people, praying for people, bringing souls to Christ, inviting people to church, helping the poor or just being nice?
None of us is immune to being tired of doing good. As zealous as prophet Jeremiah was, at some point in his ministry, he decided enough was enough.
“I will not mention God again, and I will not speak any more in His name,” he said in frustration. (Jeremiah 20:9).
Many reasons can bring us to this point. The callousness of human nature is one. When you are doing your best to help people and they don’t even appreciate it. When the people you are praying for are the ones cursing and mocking you. When your efforts at helping people are belittled and rubbished by people who ordinarily wouldn’t dare come near you if not for your faith in Christ… you may just want to call everything off.
Well, you should understand as a believer, pastor, helper in any way that this is not all about you. You are working with God and the Holy Spirit is working within you and through you to touch the world.
If you make your ministry or work for God about you, you have opened yourself up to be hurt by people. When you understand that their attacks against you are actually attacks against Christ, nothing gets to you.
Jesus told the Father to forgive His tormentors because they knew not what they were doing. Most people who make things difficult for Believers don’t have a clue. They don’t even know what they are doing.
Galatians 6:9 KJV
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Look beyond today and the present resistance of the people to the good you may be doing. Look into God’s treasure house and see what is in store for you.
You have a reward waiting for you.
Believer, if you’ve been discouraged from doing something good because of any reason, the Lord says to you, “Do not be weary!”
Do good again.
Be a soul-winner again.
Be a giver again.
Be an encourager again.
Preach the gospel again.
Pray for the sick again.
If you’ve given up on any divine assignment, take it up again.
The Lord’s strength is rising in you!
