OF SILENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
Don’t get involved in matters about which you know little or nothing. Your errors will be used against you sometime later.
Proverbs 15:2 KJV
The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.
Dear Believer,
In this present world with all it’s confusion and uncertainties, you will be able to avoid a lot of trouble by using your tongue in a wise manner.
Consider the smartphone that everyone carries about. Almost all of them have recording capabilities. Whether you are making a call, talking with someone, having an argument or explaining something, have it in mind that your voice is probably being recorded.
Even in the days of Jesus, the Pharisees were always stalking him so they could “Catch Him in His words.” (Mark 12:13).
I am not talking about you being suspicious of everyone and thinking everyone is after you to twist your words. I am encouraging you to always use discretion as you speak anywhere.
Too many people are taken to be wise until they speak. Then their stupidity is revealed. Indeed the mouth of the foolish pours out foolishness.
Proverbs 17:28 WEB
Even a fool, when he keeps silent, is counted wise. When he shuts his lips, he is thought to be discerning.
Do not join in worthless conversation. Do not engage in nonsensical arguments. You don’t have to answer every question. Refuse to be pressured to say something about what does not concern you.
There are negative consequences of careless talks.
Proverbs 13:3 KJV
He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.
Many people have placed a limitation on their destiny because of something stupid they publicly said years ago. Because of it, they aren’t allowed to partake in certain good things again.
The tongue of the righteous uses knowledge alright. The Believer does not engage in showboating, showcasing his knowledge merely to impress people.
Think before you speak. Those who usually regret what they said are those who speak first, then think later.
Make sure you are using knowledge correctly. It is uncharitable to realize that what you have spoken authoritatively about a matter is not true. It damages your Christian testimonies.
Don’t get involved in matters about which you know little or nothing. Your errors will be used against you sometime later.
Learn the value of silence. Ask the Lord to let you know when to speak, what to speak and how to speak.
Remember, you are a Believer, and your words matter.
Have a good day!
