NEW SONGS, NEW THINGS
Believer, you’ve prayed to God to do new things in your life. (Isaiah 43:19). Now sing unto Him new songs and those new things will start manifesting.
Dear Believer,
In whatever situation you are, always do what King David recommended to those who belong to God.
O sing unto the LORD a new song: sing unto the LORD… Psalm 96:1.
Singing is a natural expression of our emotions. To the believer, singing unto God is not just a matter of entertainment; it is an outpouring of our spirit in thanksgiving.
It is also an act of faith. We sing because we are Believers.
A ‘new song’ can mean a newly composed song. More than that, it means a song that comes spontaneously out of our heart. It may not sound so pleasing to the ears of human listeners, but the Father is pleased with it.
David wrote a lot of Psalms and addressed them to the ‘Chief Musician,’ or the music director. This means many of the psalms we read today were made into songs used in the praise of God.
Believer, you’ve prayed to God to do new things in your life. (Isaiah 43:19). Now sing unto Him new songs and those new things will start manifesting.
Our God Himself is a singing God. That shouldn’t be a surprise. He gives the ability to sing, so He must himself have it.
The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing. Zephaniah 3:17.
If God rejoices over us His children with singing, the least we can do is to rejoice in His presence with singing too.
Singing to God is an act of faith that declares our victory even before it shows in the physical realm.
God’s people were once facing three vicious armies that threatened to wipe them out. They weren’t as well equipped as the enemy and they were grossly outnumbered. But the king did something unusual.
He met with the people and appointed musicians to play before the LORD and praise his majestic splendor. As they marched ahead of the warriors they said: “Give thanks to the LORD, for his loyal love endures.” 2 Chronicles 20:21.
Who responds to an attacking army with a choir? It seemed ludicrous, but not to God.
When they began to shout and praise, the LORD suddenly attacked the Ammonites, Moabites, and men from Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated. 2 Chronicles 20:22.
What challenges are you facing today? How are you measuring up to them? Understand that the final outcome of this confrontation does not depend on the size of the enemy, or even your own size, but on the greatness of God’s power.
Sing about His power. Sing about His grace. Learn new songs and let your voice be heard on high as you sing the praise of the God who fights for His people.
Sing new songs and experience new victories.
Have a great day!
Your friend,
Deon.
