MOTIVATION IS NOT ENOUGH
The motivating sayings of great men may psych you up, but can never produce the faith that effects positive changes. Only the Word of God can do that.
Dear Believer,
We don’t merely live by motivation, we live by inspiration.
“There is a spirit in man and the inspiration of the Almighty given them understanding.”(Job 32:8).
Motivation may stir you up, but only divine inspiration can keep you up.
Divine inspiration brings divine instruction, and divine instruction makes the difference between floundering and rootedness.
Age is only an advantage when it is coupled with divine wisdom.
How is that, you may ask. God teaches us in Job 32:9, “[Old] men are not always wise: neither do the aged always have understand.” There are many foolish old men, and many wise young fellows.
Divine instruction is the light that guides us through the treacherous and crooked places of this world. (Psalm 32:8.)
A man without divine instruction is heading for total destruction. We are told that “He shall die without instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.” (Proverbs 5:23).
Stupidity can be so massive and monumental that it becomes a reference point for generations to come. “…for as his name, so is he. Nabal is his name, and stupidity is with him!” 1 Samuel 25:25.
Divine instruction saves us from ‘great foolishness’.
Divine instruction comes only from the Word of God. The motivating sayings of great men may psych you up, but can never produce the faith that effects positive changes. Only the Word of God can do that.
Some people can quote the words of Confucius, but they remain in confusion. Many can quote all the great sayings of great philosophers, but they remain in bondage.
An undying commitment to the supremacy of the Word of God is the key to the manifestation of His power.
Divine instruction leads to divine elevation. God lifts up those who treasure his Word. It is a pity that many professing Christians today treasure human words more than God’s Word.
Job 23:12.
Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.
An undying commitment to the supremacy of the Word of God is the key to the manifestation of His power. We want to win. But Christ has already won the war for us. It is only by divine inspiration that we can look and sense past the troubles at hand to clearly see Him and hear Him say, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33).
To appropriate the finished victory of Christ, we must always remember: ” For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” 1John 5: 4.
Motivation that is merely based on human psychology cannot produce real substance. There are preachers who have reduced their ministry to the mere exercise of human oratory, just keeping people encouraged from day to day without getting them rooted in the word of God. Do not follow such men.
You can have motivation without inspiration, but you can never have inspiration without motivation. Once you are inspired by the Spirit of God, the kind of motivation that is divine floods your soul.
Now you know what to go for!
Talk to your Father now:
Dear Father, I base my faith on Your Word and receive inspiration from Your Spirit. I shall not depend on the empty words of man to live my life; I shall always received guidance from the Holy Spirit and not fail, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Have a great day.
Your friend,
Deon.
