MAN’S THINGS AND GOD’S THINGS

MAN’S THINGS AND GOD’S THINGS

Spend time with the Spirit of God. Live a life that is always conscious of His presence. Do not grieve or quench the Spirit. Without Him you are spiritually blind, deaf and dumb.

1Corinthians NHEB
For what person knows the things of a person except the spirit of the person that is in him? So also, no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.

Dear Believer,

‘The things of a man,’ and ‘the things of God’ are different. A man knows his own plans, feelings, desires and weaknesses. He knows what he loves and what he hates. Only that man can accurately tell other men what is going on in his mind. His own spirit knows what is his ‘things.’

This means if you really want to know a man’s nature, all you have to do interact with his spirit, if that’s possible for you.

Now, to know the things of God: His will, His desires, His graces and so on, you have to have a relationship with His Spirit. Only His Spirit knows His things, and those things are deep.

God’s things were hidden from the people of old. A prophet could come along and share a few things from God, but the people didn’t have a personal relationship with God through which they could know his mind for themselves.

For the Believer today, it is different.

1Corinthians 2:12 NHEB
But we received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God, that we might know the things that were freely given to us by God.

Note the way this passage is worded. We received the Spirit ‘so we might know the things that were freely given to us by God!’

These things were already freely given to us by God, but we can only know them and appropriate them through the Spirit.

So it is possible to have something given to you from God and not know it. It is a gift that belongs to you that you aren’t even aware of. This means you can be at a great disadvantage through the lack of something you already possess!

Ironic, isn’t it?

You see, a Believer is dishonoring that title when he fails to develop a very strong relationship with the Holy Spirit. The stronger your fellowship and relationship with God’s Spirit, the more you are connected to deep things about God, especially as it has to do with your destiny and divine knowledge.

1Corinthians 2:10 NHEB
But to us God revealed it through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.

That is why Paul the apostle prayed and declared ‘the fellowship of the Holy Spirit’ on the Believers. (2 Corinthians 13:14). No fellowship, no illumination.

Spend time with the Spirit of God. Live a life that is always conscious of His presence. Do not grieve or quench the Spirit. Without Him you are spiritually blind, deaf and dumb.

May you always experience the fellowship of God’s Spirit and experience the deep things of God in the name of Jesus.

Have a great day!

Your friend,
Deon.
