LET THE TEARS STOP

LET THE TEARS STOP

The present challenges we may be facing have absolutely no impact on God’s abilities. Our problems may change us in some ways, but they don’t change God in any way.

Psalm 116:8 VW
For You have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from stumbling.

Dear Believer,

David once suffered a great loss. He came back to camp and found out that all his possessions and that of his followers had been carted away by some marauders.

That wasn’t all, his two wives, children, the wives and children of his followers and every human soul in that camp was kidnapped by the marauding Amalekites.

Just imagine for a moment what that meant to these hardy men. Everything they’d spent their lives working for had been stolen away. Their loved ones had been kidnapped.

Life suddenly lost all its meaning.

So what did they do?

1Samuel 30:4 KJV
Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep.

They wept themselves senseless!

Despondency doesn’t exist in isolation. If you are depressed enough, thoughts of killing someone or yourself start to creep in. So, after these men had wept long enough, someone brought up the idea of killing David. “He is to blame,” he said. “He got us into this.”

1Samuel 30:6 VW
And David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the souls of all the people had become bitter, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in Jehovah his God.

David suddenly realized at that point that weeping wasn’t taking him and his people anywhere but the way of destruction.

Friend, weeping is natural for a person grieving, but you must know when to stop. In that terrible situation, God has something to say. And God did say something to David, but not until he stopped crying and asked God.

He asked the priest to speak to God about the situation. He asked questions, and God answered.

1Samuel 30:8 VW
And David inquired of Jehovah, saying, Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them? And He answered him, Pursue, for you shall reach to overtake them, and rescue to recover all.

And they did recover everything they lost.

What would have happened if they had kept weeping? How would it have ended if, in their grief, they didn’t speak to God?

It is great to realize that the present challenges we may be facing have absolutely no impact on God’s abilities. Our problems may change us in some ways, but they don’t change God in any way. He is still the God who brings solutions and helps His own.

Friend, don’t be grounded by grief. Don’t let any loss cut you off from God. Heaven hasn’t closed, Jesus hasn’t left you, the Holy Spirit is still in your heart in spite of the challenges.

Incline your ears to hear Him. He has a word for you even now. Reach out. Speak to Him. He has for you the strategy and the energy that will get you out of the difficult place.

Refuse to be anxious.

Philippians 4:6-7 NET
Do not be anxious about anything. Instead, in every situation, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, tell your requests to God. And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

You shall experience that peace in the name of Jesus. Your eyes are delivered from tears and your soul delivered from grief.

Have a blessed day.

Your friend,
Deon.
