JESUS PRAYED FOR YOU TO BE KEPT FROM EVIL

John 17:15 UST
I am not asking for you to take them out of this world, but instead for you to protect them from the harm that the evil one can do to them.

Dear Believer,

The focus scripture today is part of the prayer of Jesus for His disciples. He told the Father that He wasn’t asking for Him to take the Believers away from the world, but to protect them from the evil one.

Jesus isn’t praying for the world. He made that clear in John 17:9. The scripture makes it clear that the world will get worse and worse. Evil will get bigger and bigger. Sin will become normalized as we near the end of all things.

But that isn’t the whole story.

Sometimes I strongly wish that everything just ends. When you see naked injustice, the degradation of humanity by privileged humanity and the devil running amok in the world, you just want it all to end quickly.

Jesus tells us not to be troubled. The greater the darkness, the brighter the light shines.

Remember, Jesus prayed for us. Remember, the Savior asked the Father to protect us from the evil one. The least you can do is claim this provision for yourself.

Evil can never be abundant enough to overwhelm the goodness of the Lord. No dart of the evil one can penetrate the shield of faith.

Friend, we have a defense!

God doesn’t want us to have the cowardly mentality of the escapist. He wants us to stand our ground and humiliate the devil for as long as we are around here.

A very knowledgeable man of God once reminded us of what Paul said as he neared the end of his life:

2Timothy 4:7 KJV
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.

The man of God said Satan was so relieved that he shouted “Amen!”

Why wouldn’t he, considering the problems Paul gave him.

Believer, always lay hold of the provision of divine protection from all evil. Jesus prayed for you to be protected. Believe it and walk in it.

Yes, He is the Lord that keeps you safe!
