IT IS NOT A GAME OF NUMBERS !

IT IS NOT A GAME OF NUMBERS !

Your first response to symptoms of sickness or any trouble should be spiritual. Some Believers only remember that God heals after they have exhausted all other remedies.

Dear Believer,

I am sure you know the feeling of being alone and feeling inadequate because no one is standing with you.

Sometimes we want to abandon what God has sent us to do because there is no human helper.

That is natural.

But for you, Dear Believer, you are never alone. No matter what the odds are against you, you are destined to overcome.

Let us go through 1 Samuel chapter 14 together and see a miracle.

Israel was besieged by the Philistines. The king of Israel, Saul, who knew God’s will concerning the enemy, kept praying without doing anything. His son, Jonathan became restless. Why should everyone wait when there was a battle to fight and a war to win, he wondered. Hadn’t God empowered His people? What was everyone waiting for?

The battle of life is not a game of numbers. God does not make His decisions by democratic principles.

Jonathan took with him his ‘armor bearer’, a young man who was his personal assistant. He crept through the holes in the rock to expose himself to the Philistines. He was there to confront the enemy, but the Philistines saw him and laughed. They thought he was crawling out of hiding.

But he fell on them with fury, just the two of them against a whole garrison. And then a miracle happened.

There was an earth tremor, and as the earth shook, it threw the Philistines into confusion. They started attacking themselves. Apparently God had been waiting for someone to act. He sent a supernatural shaking to discomfit the enemy on behalf of His people.

The enemy was roundly defeated that day because Jonathan dared to believe God and acted on what he knew to be His will. Jonathan yielded to the prompting of God and moved while the king who was his father waited endlessly for another word from God.

The battle of life is not a game of numbers. God does not make His decisions by democratic principles. Jonathan had said to his armor bearer:

“….For nothing can prevent the Lord from saving by many or by a few.” (1 Samuel 14:6).

Your victory does not depend on numbers. Jonathan did not have a crowd behind him, but he said to his young assistant, “Come with me, for the Lord has delivered the Philistines into the hand of Israel.” (1 Samuel 14:12).

Having a crowd with you may be good, but ‘few’ is not synonymous with ‘weak.’ Do not look at yourself as incapable of victory because you don’t have a crowd to support you. That has also been adequately illustrated in the life of Samson.

When you step on the field of battle, the Lord will send an earthquake among the ‘enemy. He will send help in the nick of time.

Dear Believer, what has God told you to do that you aren’t doing because you don’t have a lot of support? Move to do it now, and help will come. If He has sent you to do it, stop waiting on Him because He is now waiting on you to do it.

Say this with me, “If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31).

Have a great day!

Your Friend,
Deon.
