HE MUST WORK THROUGH YOU

For which I also labor, striving according to his working, which works in me mightily.

Dear Believer,

To fulfill one’s destiny in Christ is not by physical power or might. When God gives you a vision, He also gives you the power to fulfill it.

Struggling according to natural ability will be futile. Expertise has its place, but it will all fail if you want to put all your trust in it.

We see this in the life of Peter the great fisherman who spent a whole night fishing and catching nothing. He only succeeded when Jesus told him how exactly to do it. (Luke 5:1-8).

God may give you an assignment, but don’t do it by your power. The Bible shows us something along this line:

Philipians 2:13 KJV
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

See? It is God Himself who works in you to perform His own will.

Paul says in the focus scripture of today that he strives, or struggles, or labors according to God’s mighty working inside of him. That is the way God wants every believer to do His will and fulfil their destiny.

You must avoid laboring merely according the power of your intellect or body without the anointing of the Spirit within you. Not only does this lead to exhaustion, it will lead to futility and a waste of time like Peter experienced while fishing that fruitless night.

Zechariah 4:6 LEB
And he answered and said to me, “This is the word of Yahweh to Zerubbabel, saying, ‘Not by strength and not by power, but only by my Spirit,’ says Yahweh of hosts.

Zerubabbel was a smart man, but God helped him to avoid a lot of trouble by making him realize that he wasn’t going to succeed at building the temple with his smartness and physical might; he would do the work by the Spirit of the Lord.

Much of the failure we see among believers has been because they shifted their source of strength from God to themselves or some other thing.

Never forget: the mission God wants you to fulfil can only be fulfilled in the strength and grace He gives. Let the Spirit work in you and through you to do the will of God.

Talk to your Father now:
Dear Father, I know You have given me the Holy Spirit. This means I have power within me to do all you want me to do. Today I submit my natural abilities and expertise to you. I ask you to lead me, guide me and work your will through me so that I may achieve all You have destined me to achieve in the name of Jesus. Amen.
