ETERNITY GETS CLOSER
As people are celebrating all over the world because the New Year has come upon them, take some time to pray and step into God’s wisdom for the year and beyond.

Dear Believer,
The New Testament warns us several times to mind the time and not to waste it. Believers don’t just stand idle as time passes by; we translate time into things profitable to the Kingdom of God and thereby make our time on earth count.
Each day, each month, each year we spend on earth should deepen our realization about the ultimate purpose of our existence: being with the Lord for ever.
I’m not talking about physical death; it is just the casting away of a tent. I’m talking about the full fulfilment of Eternity. Christ in us is yet the ‘hope’ of glory. (Colossians 1:27). I’m speaking of a time when it won’t be a hope any more but a tangible reality.
Today is the first day of another year. People are usually excited, but in reality, it’s a day like any other day except for the importance men have attached to it.
What should be more important to you as a believer is that you are one year closer in time to timeless eternity. That is a cause for rejoicing, and it’s also a sobering thing.
This is a time to settle down and decide to make the best use of the time ahead of you
Ephesians 5:15-16 ISV
So, then, be careful how you live. Do not be unwise but wise, making the best use of your time because the times are evil.
The times are evil. And to tell the truth, the times will be more evil. If the Believers of Paul’s days had to be careful how they lived, how much more the Believers of today?
Believer, we are enjoined to not be unwise, but wise. This means that Believers can be unwise, in spite of all the gifts God has made available to them. This also means that only the wise Believer can make the best use of the time given to him. Foolish Believers, like those foolish virgins, will spend their time in nonsense and then wake up to the fact that they’ve lost out. (Matthew 25:1-13).
So, friend, as people are celebrating all over the world because the New Year has come upon them, take some time to pray and step into God’s wisdom for the year and beyond.
This is one step closer to Eternity.
