DID YOU DROP YOUR GIFT?

DID YOU DROP YOUR GIFT?

Can you remember a time when God’s Spirit moved consistently through you in a particular way that you knew was a special gift, or through a special ability? Are you concerned that you don’t have that gift again?

Romans 11:29 NET
For the gifts and the call of God are irrevocable.

Dear Believer,

The scripture above is a big consolation to anyone who thinks they have lost whatever grace or gifts God once gave them.

God makes it clear that His gifts and his calling are given for life. They are never to be taken back.

Some spiritual gifts and abilities may have stopped functioning in a Believer’s life. We naturally think God got displeased and took the gifts back. What really happens in most cases is that the one who received the gifts stopped appreciating the gifts at some point.

It could be that Satan deceived the person and got them to stop using the gifts. It could be that they became so carnal and stopped being sensitive to the Holy Spirit. Or it could be that they allowed the devil to take over the faculty through which God makes the gift function.

Can you remember a time when God’s Spirit moved consistently through you in a particular way that you knew was a special gift, or through a special ability? Are you concerned that you don’t have that gift again?

Well, God didn’t take it; you dropped it.

You need to speak to God about this. You need to ‘remember therefore where thou hast fallen, and repent and do the first work…” (Revelation 2:5)

One day you will have to stand before God and tell Him what you did with the gifts He gave you. “And to whom much is given, of him shall much be required.” (Luke 12:48).

In one of the parables of Jesus, there was a ‘servant’ who received a talent from his ‘master’ and got angry at his master because he didn’t like what was given to him. He buried it and got busy doing nothing. He was severely punished for it. (Be sure to read Matthew 25:14-30).

The Master will come. What has been given you is not yours to bury or neglect. You must profit with it, and if you’ve buried your own, or thrown it away, or despised it because you thought it wasn’t as good as someone else’s, start to go back right now to take it back.

Settle down with God and let the Holy Spirit take you back to the point where you fell and dropped your gift.

Have a profitable day.
