CALLED TO BE FIRST
Looking back is enough to disqalify. Thank God that we can still look forward and press on with the race.
Matthew 19:30 KJV
But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.
Dear Believer,
Everyone wants to be first. Being ahead of everyone else gives a powerful feeling of achievement. But the simple fact that someone is first means that others are behind. And of course, someone will have to be last.
Jesus warns here that some who were first would be last, and the last would be first. That is to say no position will be permanent for anybody.
There are people who love to flaunt titles. One thing all Believers must understand, though, is that earthly titles have no heavenly value. One can be the most respected person or occupy the highest position available in the church or in politics, but all this means nothing before God.
Run with patience the race that has been set before you. (Hebrews 12:1). Do not be weary in doing good. Being spiritually healthy is not a permanent thing. It is important that you keep living the life that brought you spiritual health in the first place.
The backslider is in a difficult position. Jesus said this:
Luke 9:62 KJV
And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
Looking back is enough to disqalify. Thank God that we can still look forward and press on with the race.
Press on and keep going on the way.
The Lord has called you to be first. May you not become the last.
