AVOID THE CREEPS!

2Timothy 3:6-7 KJ2000
For of this sort are they who creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with various lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Dear Believer,

The creeps are everywhere these days, and you must be very watchful. I speak particularly to women who are doing all they can to live for God and be upright.

You need to ask God for discernment against fakery. Our focus passage today is about so-called men of God ‘creeping into houses’ leading women captive. They use the name of God to soften the ground for their evil schemes.

Note that it says they lead silly women who have been nursing sins and various lusts.

Silliness here connotes a carefree life that is open to all kinds of intrusion. No discipline, no principle. Because of this, fake believers or ministers can seduce them and take advantage of them.

One reason for this is that these women (and by extension every gullible and silly believer) are not interested in increasing in knowledge. They always pretend to be learning the word of God, but their minds are a million miles away. That is why they are ‘ever learning, but never come to the knowledge of the truth.’ They are like the student who doesn’t ever graduate.

Believer, run away from a person who claims to be a believer or a minister but is always exhibiting the spirit of lust.

They have a creeping spirit. They are sly. The Word of God to them is only a tool to cheat.

And to the Believer I say, don’t be silly! Defend yourself and your God-given purity with the power of spiritual discernment through the Holy Spirit.
