ALWAYS REMEMBER HIS GOODNESS

ALWAYS REMEMBER HIS GOODNESS

Forgetfulness is an act of unbelief. God’s goodness is not to be forgotten. Everything He has ever done for you counts.

Psalms 78:11 NET
They forgot what he had done, the amazing things he had shown them.

Dear Believer,

One of the easiest things for humans is to forget the good times when bad times come. In times of protracted pains, we tend to act like things have always been bad.

One of the reasons the Israelites kept offending God was that they had a short memory when it came to God’s goodness. No matter how great God’s intervention was to get them out of a bad situation, when they find themselves facing another challenge, they acted and spoke as if God was powerless to save them.

God opened up the Red Sea to them and they passed as if on dry ground. He defeated their enemies by drowning them in the sea. But when they were to enter the promised land, they only looked at themselves and their sizes. They had completely forgotten the great God who helped them and got them to that point.

“These people are so big, and we are like grasshoppers,” they said.

When they became hungry, instead of looking up to God, they started grumbling.

Psalms 78:19 NET
They insulted God, saying, “Is God really able to give us food in the wilderness?

Forgetfulness is an act of unbelief. God’s goodness is not to be forgotten. Everything He has ever done for you counts.

The Believer’s attitude is exemplified in the following passage.

Psalms 77:11-12 KJV
I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old. I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.

When you fill your hearts with the great things God has done in the scripture, and what He has done in the past for you and other people you know, your faith rises.

Don’t be a forgetful believer who speaks negative things and thinks the worst when difficult times come.

The God who did great things in the past is still great now, and His power hasn’t diminished.

Think on His greatness. He will never disappoint you.

Have a blessed day.

Your friend,
Deon.
