A LIVING STONE TAKES NO NONSENSE!

As you come to him, the living stone who was rejected by people but was chosen and precious in God’s sight, you, too, as living stones, are building yourselves up into a spiritual house and a holy priesthood…

Dear Believer,

You are called a stone. But that’s not all, it says you are a living stone.

An ordinary stone is usually lifeless and dumb. Buy you, a living stone, are alive and active.

Christ is called a Living Stone, and you are part of Him, sharing His nature. If a stone reproduces, it will only reproduce another stone. You are a naturally supernatural offspring of Christ.

This concept is not unique to the New Testament. We read the following from Isaiah the prophet:

Isaiah 51:1-2 ISV
Listen to me, you who pursue righteousness, you who seek the LORD! Look to the rock from which you were cut, to the quarry from which you were hewn. Look to Abraham your father…

Abraham is called a rock, (or stone) here and his descendants are told to act like their ancestor and stop being a bunch of sissies!

Yes, we know this is a metaphor. What we can clearly see here is that we have the nature of toughness in us. Satan is a serpent. No serpent delights in biting a rock. If we stay true to our nature, we become the devil’s nightmare.

God said this:
Psalm 91:13 WEB
You will tread on the lion and cobra. You will trample the young lion and the serpent underfoot.

Who does that if not a man built of a rock?

Corroborating this, Jesus told His disciples:

Luke 10:19 NET
Look, I have given you authority to tread on snakes and scorpions and on the full force of the enemy, and nothing will hurt you.

That’s because we have feet of rock!

In the book of Daniel Chapter 2, Daniel the prophet interpreted king Nebuchadnezzar’s dream in which he saw the coming Christ as a stone shooting out to destroy the kingdoms of the world pieced together into a massive contraption of incompatible elements.

Daniel 2:34-35
As you were watching, a rock was cut out—but not with human hands—and it struck the iron and clay feet of the statue, breaking them to pieces. Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold were broken in pieces together and became like chaff from a summer threshing floor that the breeze carries away without leaving a trace. Then the rock that struck the statue grew into a huge mountain and filled the entire earth.

That was prophetic. We Believers have the same nature as that of the ‘Rock’ that grew into a huge mountain and filled the earth. Only a living stone increases in size. We are of the order of the Rock of Ages!

Believer, this is sent to you from God so that you can stop seeing yourself as a wimp. You are designed to be a breaker of barriers and a crusher of limitations.

You are a rock!

Each time a challenge faces you, understand that it is breakable, and that you are the breaker. Hit at it — again and again — until it breaks. You don’t just have weapons; YOU are the weapon!

Like the smooth stone hurled from the sling of David against Goliath, you have been hurled from the Almighty’s sling against the devil.

You are the devil’s nightmare!

Don’t say something is too strong for you, whether it is sin, sickness or any challenge. Christ in you is the Rock. He gives you life and makes you a rock. What’s out there to be afraid of?

If you believe this and walk in it, victory becomes a daily experience for you.
